Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), the UAE’s largest healthcare network, has announced the appointment of Saeed Jaber Al Kuwaiti as its new Group Chief Executive Officer.
With over 24 years of experience, Mr. Al Kuwaiti brings a rich legacy in healthcare and financial management to his new role. High-ranking representatives of eight countries pledged to devote all the resources needed to interrupt transmission of Guinea worm disease and certify its eradication by 2030.
Ministers and dignitaries endorsed the Abu Dhabi Declaration on the Eradication of Guinea Worm Disease, reaffirming actions to ensure the neglected tropical disease becomes the first human disease to be eradicated since smallpox in 1980.
Assembling at the UAE’s presidential palace, Qasr Al Watan, leaders from Chad, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Angola, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Cameroon confirmed their commitment by signing the declaration.

Al Jalila Foundation, a member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, announced that Yaseen M. Jaffer, CEO of Proclad Group, has donated AED10 million to support the UAE’s first charity hospital ‘Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Charity Hospital’, which seeks to help cancer patients in need.
The 250-bed hospital, named after the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will provide best-in-class outpatient, ambulatory and diagnostic services as well as inpatient and surgical services in a nurturing environment that prides itself on personalised patient care. Dubai Dental Hospital (DDH), Dubai’s first and largest dental hospital, has teamed up with the Al Jalila Foundation, to provide fully funded, lengthy, and multi-disciplinary dental treatments for five children and two adults with cleft lip and palate cases.
The initiative is being coordinated in conjunction with the non-profit medical service organization Operation Smile UAE, which referred to the cases. The seven patients of different ages will undergo treatments over the next three years or more, which will be funded by Al Jalila Foundation.
