Airbus awarded new orders in China

Airbus confirms the signature of orders with Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, and Shenzhen Airlines for a total of 292 A320 Family aircraft, demonstrating the positive recovery momentum and prosperous outlook for the Chinese aviation market. Once the relevant criteria are met, these orders will enter the backlog.

DA Announces Completion of DXB’s Runway Rehabilitation Project

Dubai Airports has announced the successful on-time completion of Dubai International’s (DXB) northern runway project, following 45 days of extensive rehabilitation works from May 9 to June 22.

On June 22nd, an Emirates A380 bound for Amman, Jordan was the first aircraft to depart from the new runway and shortly after, an Emirates A380 arriving from Sydney, Australia touched down, marking the official reopening of DXB’s Northern Runway and return to operations ahead of the busy summer travel period.

Airbus awarded FORUM Earth monitoring satellite contract from ESA

Airbus has been awarded a €160M contract for the European Space Agency’s (ESA) FORUM satellite to measure heat emitted from the Earth into space. FORUM, short for Far-infrared Outgoing Radiation Understanding and Monitoring, will be the first satellite to observe Earth in the far-infrared part of the spectrum, providing unique measurements of the Earth’s outgoing energy to help improve understanding of the climate system.
