DEWA Sustainovate Idea Lab participants discuss building a sustainable future at Global Women’s Forum 2020

A group of pioneering female employees from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) came together in a breakout session to share their achievements as part of the DEWA Sustainovate Idea Lab at the Global Women’s Forum (GWFD) 2020.

DAE signs new US$300 million 5-year dual tranche unsecured term financing facility with Emirates Islamic and Emirates NBD Capital

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd. announced that it has signed a US$300 million 5-year dual tranche unsecured term financing facility with Emirates Islamic and Emirates NBD Capital, the investment banking arm of Emirates NBD. The facility will contain a conventional and an Islamic tranche and can be upsized to US$600 million. The facility will support the future financing needs of DAE’s business.

Dubai Customs launches Cross Border e-Commerce platform

Dubai Customs officially launched its Cross Border e-Commerce platform as part of its organized activities in the 3rd UAE Customs Week 2020. The new blockchain based project is the first of its kind in the region and it aims to help the emirate become a global hub for e-commerce and encourage e-commerce companies set their businesses in Dubai. RTA gets ready for eParking tickets debut

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is readying for the launch of the eParking tickets; an innovative solution for paying parking fees in Dubai. The project comes with upgraded parking metres fitted with interactive touch screens enabling users to enter vehicle details and have eParking tickets issued similar to text messages for mobile phones (mParking) without the need to display a paper ticket on the front of the vehicle.

Hamdan bin Mohammed reviews results of 2019 Government of Dubai Customer Happiness Index survey

Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum reviewed the results of the 2019 Government of Dubai Customer Happiness and Mystery Shopper Index surveys.

The surveys are part of the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, which evaluates the service quality of various government entities.

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed congratulated the top three entities identified as the best performers in the Index. He directed entities that scored below average in the Customer Happiness Index to submit plans to enhance the quality of their services.

DAFZA’s total trade reaches AED 120 billion in the first nine months of 2019

Dubai Airport Freezone Authority (DAFZA) announced that it contributed 12% of Dubai’s AED 1.02 trillion foreign trade in the first nine months of 2019. The results highlight the success of DAFZA’s strategic projects that have played a role in supporting Dubai’s economic growth and enhancing its GDP. 

DAFZA’s operational performance supported the increase in global trade through the free zone. DAFZA achieved a growth of 11.2% in the total value of foreign trade to reach AED 120 billion, in addition to an 11.8% growth in re-exports, valued at AED 68 billion and accounted for 21.7% from the total re-exports in the emirate of Dubai.
